Welcome to Terry Freeman's teaching web-site.
This site is my official site at Macquarie University. Although I retired in 2001, I decided to return to teaching
at the secondary school level. In 2008, I was approved to teach physics, science, senior mathematics and
general mathematics. I am remaining attached to the Macquarie University Physics Department thus retaining my official site.
The site you are on now has been created so that I can post physics resource materials for years 11 and 12 (stage 6)
students and their teachers. Once I was teaching I found that there was a more urgent need to help lower level maths
students so I created a note board for these people. You will find it here .
After teaching as a casual teacher throughout 2009, I found that I was unlikely to ever be
given a year 11 or 12 class. Consequently I stopped teaching and returned to developing teaching resources for years 7, 8, 9
and 10 mathematics classes. I still intend to continue and produce spreadsheet lessons for senior financial mathematics.
You will find my resource development notes here .
In 1995 I wrote a "bridging" course with all the items that I wished students knew before starting
physics at university. I think that this text is still helpfull to HSC physics students today.
You will find it in pdf format here. I recently rewrote chapter 7 so that it
would be easier to understand semi-conductor technology, you may find this interesting.
As part of one of my old research projects I had prepared some sample first year student physics laboratory
reports. A number of people have expressed interest in these reports so I am posting the pdf versions at this site.
