Here are some stats about who you are, what site you browsed last, and what browser and operating system you are using, all available with a couple of JAVA scripts. (However, you won't see any of the this info on your screen if JAVA is turned off in your browser.) This illustrates some of the privacy issues that are raised on the internet when using JAVA enabled browsers. Don't worry, I haven't saved any of this info. But others frequently do. Here is your info:
I gleamed these JAVA tricks from Christophe Grenier's web site at URL:
http://www.cgsecurity.org/
Since this is a frames enabled web site, you can click anywhere on this
part of the page (i.e., the frame which contains this info), and then
save the code to your hard drive (without the table of contents to the
left being saved as well). To do this with Netscape Communicator,
you click on the file menu, then "edit frame", which will bring up Composer.
Then do a "file/save as" to save the frame to disk. You can then load the
file into a text editor to see the JAVA scripts which produced the info
above. Enjoy!
