Ivan Fernandez-Corbaton nominated for the AIP Bragg Award.

Ivan Fernandez-Corbaton has been chosen to represent the Department in the Australian Institute of Physics competition for the Bragg Gold Medal for Excellence in Physics. This award aims to recognize the work done by a Ph.D. student in Australia that is considered to be of outstanding quality.
Ivan’s thesis was commended in the very strongest terms by all of his examiners, was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Commendation, and generated 7 first-author publications and a book chapter. It presents a significant advance in the fundamental understanding of the symmetries of light-matter interactions along with associated experimental confirmation, and is a truly model example of PhD research.
The winner of the 2014 Bragg medal will be announced in January 2015.
