Completion of the surveys is a vital component of the Space to Grow project and one of the main ways that we obtain feedback from both teachers and students. Other data sources for the educational research can be viewed on the Research Methodology page. Students in eligible participating Australian schools may be entered into the current incentive competition simply by completing the pre and post SSSQ and AKQ survey data.
Click on the links for a hard copy of the questionnaires to your desktop to forward the hard copies to our Project Manager: Student pre survey SSSQ and Student pre survey AKQ Student post survey SSSQ and Student post survey AKQ Teacher pre survey SSSQ and Teacher pre survey AKQ Teacher post survey SSSQ and Teacher post survey AKQ The Post intervention questionnaires are best carried out when all applicable classes who undertook Space to Grow have completed their relevant projects.

What questionnaires need to be completed?
|
Students need to complete all sections of the two pre and post questionnaires: the Secondary Schools Science Questionnaire (SSSQ) Student version and the Astronomical Knowledge Questionnaire (AKQ). Teachers must complete all sections of the pre and post SSSQ Teacher version. The AKQ is optional for teachers. Each page can be saved to allow participants to return later using their individual password in case of broadband 'dropout' or non-completion in the classroom. |
When should you complete the questionnaires?

Questionnaires need to be completed every year on two occasions by both students and teachers. The pre-questionnaires need to be completed by both students and teachers before starting the Space to Grow projects or their normal topic on astronomy in their Science or Physics classes. The post-questionnaires need to be completed by both students and teachers at the conclusion of the Space to Grow projects or at the end of the astronomy topic covered within their Science or Physics classes. Online access to post questionnaires will not be available unless the pre survey questionnaires are completed. |

Students, if 80% of your class completes the pre and post SSSQ and AKQ questionnaires, you will automatically go into the draw for $50, $30 or $20 iTunes vouchers. Please take care to fully complete each section without abbreviations so we can notify you if you are an iTunes winner. Teachers, we will automatically mark the Astronomical Knowledge Questionnaire. We can email you the pre/post-questionnaire results for your students within 48 hours, provided the AKQ is completed online.
